Lenovo k8 Plus: Long term review

The Lenovo k8 plus is a product launched by the company which is close to stock android with an exception of a few apps like Microsoft apps and some sort of Lenovo specific apps like the camera and Lenovo help, with an android 7.1.1 nougat at launch but, now is running Android 8.0.0 and will likely stay with this version

only and the security patch is of July 2018 as sadly Lenovo only gives its device a security patch once in three months, and then I really like the performance of the battery as it lasts for about a day and half of regular usage. The phone has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor which gets the job done and a great 4000 mAh battery. The specification of the camera is a dual rear camera with a 13MP as the primary lens and the secondary camera which is used for depth sensing with is of 5MP with a dual tone flash coupled with it. The front facing camera is a 8MP shooter also has a selfie flash and a beauty mode which has the option to turn it off or manual adjust it or auto mode.  but, the photos taken by this phone is quite good, it's not feature packed but has features like depth-mode ( portrait mode),auto HDR effects, a manual mode for both the front and rear cameras, a slow motion camera which can take videos at 640x480 resolution. The most painful part of this phone is that this phone takes up a it'll take a lot of time to charge like a 2 hrs and 15 mins or so to go from 0% to 100% with the charger supplied inside the box, Lenovo says that this phone has some sort a mediatek specific quick charge feature  which I tested out with some Moto brand fast charger but, it doesn't seem to have any difference in the charging time significantly. It has a plastic body which looks metal. I'm using the 3/32 variant, has an expandable memory option with dual sim support (triple sim slot). I should say that the phone has slowed down a bit in the recent past and I have been using this phone for about an year are so now which is think has to do with the mediatek P25 helio which is an octa core chip with an clock speed upto  2.6GHz that is built on a 16nm finFet technology with arm Cortex- A53 in it. The quality of the speaker is good, it has a down facing single speaker and it it loud, the audio the jack is also appreciable has the phone comes with in built Dolby Atmos support and you can has the modes of audio. The addition of a button with can be used to launch anything is great but, but default it is mapped to play music.
